Before & After: Interior Design Transformations That Will Inspire You

Kids Home Art Studio – Bloomfield Hills, MI

The goal for this room was to create a space that would foster creativity and imagination.  This was achieved by first refinishing the original wood floors, which brought a natural warmth and cohesiveness to the rest of the home. Removing closets allowed for a more functional space, complete with storage and a sink for easy cleanup. Then, of course, we added color! A creative art installation on the ceiling, thoughtful accent walls, and playful furnishings bring this room together to make the perfect creative space for kids.

Powder Room – Bloomfield Hills, MI

This powder room needed a simple refresh, while still preserving the integrity of the space. We freshened up the existing wainscoting, molding, and trim with paint. Then installed a custom-made vanity. The custom apron sink front and shelf topped with quartz counters grounds the room, while also providing needed storage and counterspace.  Walls covered with black and white star wallpaper along with a new window treatment bring added interest and whimsy, making this space an unexpected surprise.

Retro Kitchen – Grosse Pointe, MI

Although these clients loved the retro charm in their kitchen, they also wanted to brighten up the space and make it more functional. With functionality in mind, we removed a wall to create more space for extra storage, countertop space and a much-needed dishwasher! In keeping with the spirit of the home we kept the original corner built-in and added new cabinets in a similar style to the original kitchen. Floral wallpaper and a retro milk glass light bring a little extra joy to time spent in the kitchen.

Great Room – Huntington Woods, MI

With this great room as a center gathering space, these clients were ready to elevate the room and make it their own.  We started by installing a new fireplace insert with a marble surround. Then placed tile up to the ceiling to accentuate the height of the room. The stars of this space are the custom arch built-ins. The use of natural wood and the curved shape bring warmth and intrigue, while the cabinets and shelves add storage. A neutral palate and materials with varying textures bring depth and character to the space, making it a beautiful place to gather.
